| SAEC is a 4-lecture class that educates participants about aspects of substance use. The class focuses on the effects substance use has on an individual, society, families and employment. Stress management, quality of life and myths of substance use are also covered. SAEC is for individuals who do not show signs of abuse/dependence, but have been experimentally using. | ||
| Eligibility: Clients who are first time offenders who clearly do not have issues of dependence. A typical participant may have a charge of: underage drinking, illegal possession, DUI or other minor substance-related charge and possibly a past charge of a substance-related nature. An individual must be willing to remain abstinent from substances of abuse, have and interest in learning and willingness to complete the SASSI. | ||
