How does meth affect me?

Meth is a stimulant, which means it increases brain activity and releases dopamine causing feelings of pleasure for the person using it. However, using meth has many dangerous side effects, including:

  • increased alertness and activeness
  • increased blood pressure and heart rate
  • decreased appetite
  • mood swings
  • problems sleeping
  • violent behavior
  • psychosis (seeing, hearing, and feeling things that are not there)
  • severe skin sores and dental problems
