Addressing Teen Substance Abuse

Marion, Ind.—Centerstone will host the first in a series of three free, educational community forums on Teen Substance Abuse Prevention, Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Designed to help teens (ages 12-18) and their parents understand and address substance abuse issues, the forum will be held in the Marion, Ind. Public Library at 600 S. Washington Street.

In the first of the series “Alcohol and Marijuana” substance abuse counselor Don Degner, M.A., NCAC II, CADAC IV, ICAC II, LMHC, will address the serious consequences of alcohol and drug use, signs that family members or friends might be using, and effective ways to intervene. Time for discussion and take-home materials will be available. No reservations are necessary.
