Advantage Behavioral Health Names Stephen McCoy Compliance Officer

Nashville, Tenn. — Advantage Behavioral Health, a regional not-for-profit behavioral health managed care company, today announced the addition of Stephen McCoy as compliance officer, according to Debbie Cagle., chief executive officer. Advantage Behavioral Health is wholly owned by Centerstone, Tennessee’s largest provider of behavioral health services.

As compliance officer, McCoy will be responsible for the development, management, coordination and continual improvement of Advantage’s and Centerstone’s compliance policies. These policies keep the two companies in compliance with local, state and federal regulations regarding health care providers, covering issues ranging from employee conduct to client rights to fraud and abuse. McCoy will conduct compliance audits of Advantage and Centerstone and provide ongoing support to employees to ensure compliance.

“Compliance is essential to our operation, and we are fortunate to have Stephen as our compliance officer,” said Cagle. “His attention to detail and experience working with the State will be an invaluable resource to both Advantage and Centerstone.”

McCoy previously served as legislative coordinator for the State of Tennessee’s Bureau of TennCare. There he was responsible for tracking any legislation that might affect the Bureau and worked to develop their official position on proposed legislation.

McCoy received a bachelor of science in business administration and a master of business administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
