Centerstone Opens Horizon House in Richmond

New drop-in support center offers resources and consultation services for adults

Richmond, Ind. – Centerstone, a not-for-profit organization providing a wide range of mental health and addiction services, today announced the opening of Horizon House, a new drop-in counseling and community resource center for adults. Located at 47 South 15th Street in Richmond, Horizon House helps connect area residents to the services and support they need to lead healthy, successful lives.

“Centerstone is committed to helping our Richmond neighbors gain access not just to mental health and addiction support, but a variety of local services that can help them through many life challenges,” said Suzanne Koesel, CEO of Centerstone. “Our goal at Horizon House is to offer a safe and welcoming environment in which members of the community can drop-in and speak with counselors about any life issue they may be facing, receive encouragement to overcome any challenges and gain access to the tools and support they need to thrive.”

Services provided by Horizon House include:

  • Access to computers for personal and work use
  • Access to healthcare, food stamps, food pantries, and Medicaid and Social Security resources
  • Assistance in accessing transportation services
  • Employment assistance
  • Housing assistance
  • Individual life planning and counseling support
  • Laundry, canteen and shower facility access
  • Mental health, addiction and substance abuse treatment
  • Support through the stages of addiction recovery

Horizon House will be led by Tammy Scotten, clinical specialty services manager at Centerstone, and Bobby Schmidt, Centerstone’s community outreach coordinator. The location will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be reached by calling 765- 935-2639 or 765-935-2745. No appointments are required at Horizon House, and residents are encouraged to stop by at any time during business hours.
