Play Therapy will soon be made available to an expanded number of Wayne County, Indiana children and families thanks to a generous gift from the Vigran Family Foundation. The Vigran Family Foundation was established by lifelong Richmond, Indiana resident Stanley Vigran to support healthcare and human services, educational initiatives, theater and the arts, and Jewish causes in Richmond and the surrounding area.
The $1,400 gift provided by the Foundation will add two additional Mobile Play Therapy Kits to those already in use by Centerstone Richmond’s Child and Family Services team.
Mobile Play Therapy Kits provide an array of therapeutic tools to enhance behavioral health treatment for families and children, particularly those who have experienced trauma. Mobile Play Therapy Kits have been utilized in Wayne County and a number of Centerstone service areas across the state with great success, allowing clinical staff to meet our youngest, most vulnerable clients anywhere to engage in therapeutic play, build trust and communication skills, and begin the healing process.
With the number of DCS referrals in the state skyrocketing, resources such as these are more critical than ever. Centerstone is grateful for the support of the Vigran Family Foundation as we work to fulfill our mission of delivering care that changes people’s lives in Wayne County and across Indiana.
