Centerstone Welcomes Elisa Gitan as Licensed Therapist for New West Nashville Office

Nashville, Tenn.—Centerstone, a not-for-profit organization providing a wide range of mental health and addiction services, today announced Elisa M. Gitan, LCSW, has joined its team as a therapist for its new West Nashville office.

Gitan will serve as a licensed therapist for the Harding Pike office where she will offer mental health counseling and substance abuse services for children, adults and families. The West Nashville office is one of more than 60 facilities and 170 partnership locations Centerstone operates in Middle Tennessee. It opened at 4525 Harding Pike, Suite B-235 on Nov. 1 and will expand to Suite B-236 on Jan. 1, 2011.

“We are excited to welcome Elisa to our team and know she will make a positive difference in the lives of those in West Nashville,” said Ben Middleton, Chief Operating Officer for Clinic Services at Centerstone. “Her diverse experience in counseling and substance abuse treatment and expertise in working with clients of all ages will prove invaluable as we expand services to reach even more people across Middle Tennessee.”

Before joining Centerstone, Gitan served as a clinical reviewer for Ascend Management Innovations in Nashville, Tenn. Prior to her work there, she served as a clinical therapist and evaluator at LM & Associates Inc. and at SORS, both in Denver, Colo. Gitan also has experience as a social worker and drug court counselor, medical social worker, substance abuse counselor and adolescent counselor.

Gitan holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver, a master’s degree in science from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colo., and bachelor’s degrees in social work and business administration from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Nationally Licensed Acupuncturist (NCCAOM) and certified in trauma therapy from the University of Denver.
