“David Guth is an outstanding leader in the healthcare industry. At Centerstone, David Guth has created a unique healthcare organization with a mission to ensure that every person living with a mental health or addiction disorder reaches full recovery. In 2008, Mr. Guth led the merger of Tennessee-based Centerstone with two other behavioral health organizations that rendered Centerstone the largest provider of community-based behavioral healthcare in the United States. The affiliation created the parent company, Centerstone of America, of which Mr. Guth is CEO, to serve as the umbrella for four companies: Centerstone of Tennessee, Inc., Centerstone of Indiana, Inc., Centerstone Research Institute and Advantage Behavioral Health. David has overseen the integration of these companies and their combined 1,800 employees.
“David Guth is the heart, soul and backbone of Centerstone and his visionary leadership has led this organization to become the largest non-profit provider of community-based behavioral healthcare in the nation,” said Bob Vero, CEO of Centerstone of Tennessee. “However, David is not concerned with growth just for growth’s sake. He is singularly focused on fulfilling Centerstone’s mission and making sure that every person with a behavioral health disorder receives the treatment and support they need.”
The National Council recognizes leaders in the mental health and addictions treatment field, like David Guth, who have a superior, sustained commitment to quality, behavioral healthcare and a career marked by significant contributions to the behavioral healthcare industry and the
consumers it serves.
The Award of Excellence will be formally presented to David Guth on March 16, 2010 during the Fabulous Forty Gala at the 40th annual conference of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare in Orlando, Florida.
