The American Legion Post #24's recent famous fish fry was designated to support Centerstone Military Services program. During lunchtime, our volunteer drivers delivered fish lunches to businesses in the Columbus area and people lined up at the door for dining in. Volunteers are pictured below left.
Not only was $2,600 raised to help provide services to Bartholomew County, but the community was educated about the needs of active military personnel, veterans and their families. Most diners were unaware of our specialized service for veterans. Pictured below right, for the check presentation, are Kent Crossley, Executive Director Centerstone Military Services, Anna Hilycord, Manager Adult and Family Services, Thelma Chandler, Regional Director of Crisis and Access and Military Services and American Legion Commander Al McKown
A big thank you to everyone who supported the event by volunteering, buying lunch or by helping to spread the word.
