MEDIA ADVISORY: Centerstone to Offer Free Training for Child Care Providers and Pre-Kindergarten Teachers in Maury County

Centerstone’s Early Childhood Network (ECN) is partnering with Books from Birth of Middle Tennessee and Tennessee Voices for Children to host free training workshops for child care providers and pre-kindergarten teachers in Maury County. Presented by Books from Birth of Middle Tennessee, the “Language is the Key” workshop offers evidence-based strategies to help teachers and parents foster the emotional development of children in their care through reading books and discussing stories. Presented by Tennessee Voices for Children, the “Feelings Make the Difference” workshop demonstrates how daily interactions between adults and children can prompt opportunities to talk about emotional health, teach impulse control and anger management. Instruction materials will be provided for both workshops.

Centerstone’s Early Childhood Network (ECN) provides quality intervention services in Maury Country for children (birth – third grade) and their families. ECN offers extensive resources for parents with children who have behavioral problems and experience emotional or behavioral disorders that interfere with family, school and community activities.
