Nashville, Tenn. — Centerstone, the largest provider of health behavioral services in Tennessee, has announced the addition of Sonya Nicole Jones, M.D., to its medical services team.
Dr. Jones serves patients at Centerstone’s Brentwood facility on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at the Columbia facility on Fridays. She will also offer telemedicine services at Centerstone’s Ella Hayes Center in Nashville on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Dr. Jones is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with certification in the specialty of psychiatry.
“Dr. Jones’s clinical experience will be a great asset to the high quality services we already offer at Centerstone,” said Ben Middleton, senior vice president for Core Services. “We are pleased to add a physician of her caliber to our staff. Her expertise and insight will prove invaluable to our staff and the consumers we serve.”
Prior to joining Centerstone, Dr. Jones served as assistant professor of Psychiatry for the Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody and medical director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic at Vanderbilt University. During her tenure at Vanderbilt, she also provided clinical services at the Vanderbilt Community Mental Health Center and served on Vanderbilt University Institutional Review Board.
She graduated cum laude from Rhodes College in Memphis with a bachelor of science degree and received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. She completed her residency at Vanderbilt University where she received the Hollender Award for Outstanding Performance by a Resident in 2005. Dr. Jones currently holds memberships with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Tennessee Psychiatric Association and the American Psychiatric Association.
