In an effort to reduce waste and support the community, Lucky's Market, a grocery store in Bloomington, gives customers a wooden dime everytime they bring a resusable bag to shop. Customers then have the option to donate that dime's value, doubled by Lucky's Market, to a local non-profit voted on by the community at the end of the quarter. Lucky's Market is holding a Facebook vote to determine who will receive next quarter's Bags for Change donations, and Centerstone's Stepping Stones is in the running!
As a program of Centerstone, Stepping Stones provides transitional housing and supportive services to youth ages 16-20 that are or at risk of experiencing homelessness. They provide a supportive community where young people experiencing homelessness can develop skills to live independently.
To cast your vote, visit Lucky's Facebook page; the organizations in the running are listed in the comments below the photo. Please give the Stepping Stones' comment a "Like."
The three organizations who receive the most “Likes” will be selected as next quarter's recipients. Voting period runs through July 31, 2017. Thank you for your support.
