Primary Care

Whole Health Minded

At Centerstone, we know that your physical health can affect your mental health and vice versa. For many years, we have worked to provide mental health services in primary care offices. Now, we are offering primary care in some of our clinics. Through a joint venture with Unity Physician Partners, Centerstone is proud to offer primary care services in several of our locations: Unity Medical Clinics.

Unity Medical Clinics offers the following services:

  • Basic primary care services for common sickness
  • Specialty care for chronic diseases and conditions that don’t require a specialist
  • Most laboratory services and referral to others, including X-rays
  • Specialized testing for long-term preventative care of common diseases and conditions
  • Behavioral health screenings and care coordination
  • Care coordination with your other doctors and specialists
  • Direction to health plan benefits and community support for your condition

You don't have to be a Centerstone client to use these services, and you don't have to have a mental health diagnosis.

Why Primary Care?

Individuals with a serious and persistent mental illness, on average, die 25 years earlier than the general population. This is largely due to co-occuring and treatable medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes and metabolic disorders. We want to make it as easy as possible for our clients to get the care they need. In addition, offering primary care in our clinics gives members of the communities we serve another trustworthy health care provider, which is good news for all of us.
