PATH (“Parents As Tender Healers”) is an intensive education course designed to orient prospective adoptive, foster and kinship care parents to the world of child welfare. Classes are offered to families who are interested in becoming resource homes for children in the foster care system in Tennesee.
Based on the vision of its creators, the series serves as a guide through the complexities of the child welfare system and discusses the ways that the system affects children and families. It also provides opportunities for participants to assess their own strengths and resources and to determine whether they are ready to take on the role of resource parent at this time.
PATH is based on the belief that children grow and develop better in families, where they can build lasting relationships. Children who have been a part of the child welfare system need stability and continuity that can be provided by foster, adoptive and kinship care families.
Centerstone is proud to offer this PATH training to our foster parents.
Centerstone Therapeutic Foster Care
Centerstone’s Therapeutic Foster Care team is licensed through the State of Tennessee to care for children with emotional and behavioral issues. We work with children in state custody who range in age from 0-18. Foster Children in Centerstone foster homes generally require a higher level of care, therefore our foster parents receive additional training, support and financial reimbursement. Parents work directly with Centerstone and have 24-hour clinical support from our highly trained staff.
