This federally funded program provides comprehensive services to low-income pregnant women and children under age 3.
Weekly home visits include parent and child activities, along with education on prenatal and child development, health, nutrition, dental, mental health and safety. Other services include group socializations, parent workshops, cooking and prenatal classes, fatherhood activities, field trips and linkage to community resources.
The Early Head Start mission is to promote healthy outcomes for pregnant women, enhance the development of very young children and promote healthy family functioning.
