If you’ve tried medication or talk therapy for depression or OCD and haven’t found relief, you’re not alone. A new approach may be available. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment that offers a breakthrough option when traditional methods haven’t worked.
Who Can Benefit?
- You’re living with major depressive disorder

- You’ve experienced unwanted side effects from antidepressants
- You’re seeking a non-medication option for depression or OCD
Your provider will work with you to determine if TMS is the right approach for your needs.

What is TMS Therapy?
TMS therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation—think of it as physical therapy for the brain. These pulses help activate underactive areas that may be contributing to symptoms of depression or OCD.
Treatment is delivered while you sit comfortably in a chair. A small device is placed lightly against your head and delivers focused magnetic pulses to a specific part of your brain. You’re awake the entire time, there’s no sedation, and you can resume normal activities afterward.
TMS is typically done five days a week for four to six weeks. Each session lasts about 20 minutes. Many patients find the routine manageable and say it becomes a meaningful part of their day, especially with regular encouragement from their care team.
