Synopsis of Training:
This is a modified and adapted version of DBT Skills Training, created by Dr. Marsha Linehan, in the 1970s, based upon a merging of traditional CBT approaches and the philosophies of Zen Buddhism. DBT and DBT Skills training programs were developed to treat the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). DBT is the only evidence-based treatment backed for BPD; however, the various approaches of this methodology have been proven applicable to myriad presenting problems, across various diagnoses. DBT Skills training focuses, specifically, on instilling mindfulness practice and increasing interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.
Learning Objectives:
The Centerstone Research Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7204. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Centerstone Research Institute is solely responsible for all aspects of programs.
