On The Line – Suicide Prevention: How To Recognize and Talk About Suicide Risk

This session is intended for residents of Tennessee.

 

Synopsis of Training:
This live training covers an evidence-informed interpersonal model of suicide prevention and care called RELATE. Participants will learn how to recognize suicide risk, engage with clients effectively, and listen for and assess the three primary drivers of suicide. Unique considerations for engaging effectively with clients over telehealth will be considered when utilizing the RELATE model.

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the importance of shared values to connect with clients experiencing suicide risk.
  2. Identify the three primary risk factors of suicide and how to listen for these risk factors.
  3. Review strategies for effective interpersonal engagement using the RELATE model.

 

About The Trainer:
Alana Morris, MA, LPC-MHSP. Alana holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Alana has 12 years of therapy experience from community-based services, outpatient clinics, and in correctional facilities. Alana has worked at Centerstone since 2012 and is currently in the role of Clinical Education and Supervision Liaison.

 

The Centerstone Research Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7204. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Centerstone Research Institute is solely responsible for all aspects of programs.
