Support
Three-Tiered Model of Mental Health Support
The collaborative program focuses on a three-tier model of services and supports that address mental health concerns for students displaying a particular problem and significant functional impairment. The purpose is to meet each student’s unique needs.
Tier 1: This tier is universal. It includes school-wide strategies for promoting positive mental health in all students, including those with and without mental health challenges. The focus is on promotion of mental wellness and prevention of mental health challenges. Approaches used at this tier are mental health literacy, developing trauma informed cultures in schools, and providing professional development for staff.
