Virtual Resource Fair and Pride Celebration
In celebration of Pride month, the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System and community organizations of Jacksonville teamed for a Pride Celebration.
The Veterans Health System hosted a Virtual Resource Fair on June 27. The event served to help raise awareness of community resources for fellow veteran serving organizations and those seeking services. The Steven A. Cohen Veterans Network at Centerstone Jacksonville was grateful to be participate in this event as part of our clinic’s outreach to LGBTQ military veterans.
Liz Sherr, Clinic Director, and Michael Fleming, Outreach Director, provided an overview of the clinic and our services during the virtual event.
“We were honored to participate,” Sherr said. “Events like these help bring a community together and certainly ensure we are providing our veterans and their family members the best possible care.”
In addition to the clinic, other organizations such as the Jacksonville Vet Center, The Fire Watch, Veterans Justice Outreach, and VA Mental Health Services delivered a summary of the assistance they provide to veterans.
Stephanie Guedj, Clinical Psychologist at the Jacksonville Women’s Health Community Based Outpatient Clinic coordinated this event and was thankful for the support of the Jacksonville Cohen Clinic.
“We so appreciate the Cohen Clinic at Centerstone’s efforts to collaborate with us at the VA,” Guedj said, “Working together truly helps connect veterans with care.”
The Jacksonville Clinic will continue to provide resources to LGBTQ veterans while seeking additional ways in which to support them.
