Centerstone to Host 9th Annual Reclaiming Lives Luncheon With Keynote Speaker Joe Theismann

Centerstone, a national nonprofit leader in behavioral healthcare, will host its 9th Annual Reclaiming Lives Luncheon on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel Nashville (Tennessee). The luncheon begins at 11:00 am central.

Centerstone’s Reclaiming Lives Luncheon is a signature event that raises funds to ensure our community’s most vulnerable individuals and families have access to crucial mental healthcare and addiction treatment services. As a nonprofit organization, Centerstone has provided behavioral healthcare to people of all ages for nearly 70 years. With a mission of delivering care that changes people’s lives, Centerstone bridges the research-to-practice gap so individuals can receive the right type of care to achieve their best possible outcome.

Led by community member co-chairs Kate Cain, Eddie George and Kerry Wilson, the Reclaiming Lives Luncheon supports Centerstone’s delivery of care to people who need assistance through mental health and substance use treatment.

“We are excited to announce Joe Theismann as this year’s keynote speaker,” said Ben Middleton, regional chief executive officer of Centerstone. “We know his impressive background and well-known strategies for handling trying circumstances and dealing with change will inspire us and provide the opportunity for an interesting and moving conversation.”

Theismann is an entrepreneur and the former star quarterback who led the former Washington football team now known as The Commanders. His accomplished career includes being honored as the NFL’s Man of the Year in 1982 for his community service and dedication to the health and welfare of children. In 1983, he won the league’s Most Valuable Player Award, leading his team to a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. Joe Theismann’s career ended abruptly in 1985 after sustaining a badly broken leg during a Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants on national television. In 2003, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and in 2013 received the Walter Camp Football Foundation “Distinguished American” Award. With every chapter of his life, Theismann evolved from athlete to the ultimate businessman.
