Sparking Friendships
Military spouses looking to make new connections did so in style thanks to Mission: MilSpouse and the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone recently.
“This was a first-of-its-kind event for us,” Meghan Williams, the clinic’s outreach director said of the Social Spark friend finding evening held in the clinic’s community room. “We couldn’t have done it without teamwork. A big thank you goes out to Mission: MilSpouse and representatives from Fort Campbell’s leadership for coming together and giving our military spouses a chance to meet, mingle and make memories.”
Mission: MilSpouse originally began as Army Wife Network founding in April 2009 and has grown over the years to support all those connected to the military of all branches and all components. Its mission – to globally empower military spouses with resources and support them to conquer adversity, foster confidence, and thrive in this military life.
“We are so grateful to be connected to Mission: MilSpouse,” Williams noted. “Both of our organizations understand the unique challenges our military families face and that feeling connected and supported in that community is invaluable.”
The social evening welcomed a number of spouses who, by the end of the night, were able to say they made a new friend.
“It was a special evening with a photo station, giveaways, refreshments and most importantly a chance to meet fellow spouses who can relate to the challenges and wonders of military life. It is certainly an event we will work to host again.”
