Internship Overview
Hands-On Learning in Behavioral Health
Centerstone offers internship experiences for bachelor and master-level students seeking a one or two semester placement, as resources allow. Our goal is to provide a supportive, hands-on learning environment where students can observe, engage, and build meaningful skills that support both academic success and future career growth.
Internship experiences may include exposure to a variety of clinical settings and populations, depending on availability and program needs. Opportunities can include working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, and group settings.

Supervision is a key part of the internship experience. Accepted interns receive guidance, supervision, and mentorship from experienced clinical professionals throughout the placement.
Selected interns will be required to complete a background check, provide five professional references, and complete credentialing requirements as part of the onboarding process.

Bachelor-Level Internships
Centerstone offers limited bachelor-level internship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in social work, psychology, health and human services, and other related fields. These experiences are designed to provide foundational exposure to behavioral health services and professional practice.
Master-Level Internships
Centerstone offers limited internship opportunities for master-level students in fields such as clinical psychology, mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related areas.
These placements are intended for students in their final year of study who are seeking a clinical internship of approximately 400 to 600 hours.
Once an application is completed, status can be tracked by logging into a Centerstone account via Workday.
PMHNP Clinical Placement
PMHNP Clinical Internship Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in completing your psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) clinical placement with Centerstone. We are proud to support future psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners through hands-on, real-world clinical experiences.
Due to the high volume of requests, PMHNP clinical placements are currently managed through a wait list. Placement opportunities typically include psychiatric evaluations and medication management under the supervision of a PMHNP. Our providers generally serve a broad patient population throughout the clinic day, and placements are not typically limited to specific age groups.
