Centerstone Providing Tornado Relief with Tennessee Recovery Project

Nashville, Tenn. — Centerstone is actively partnering with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS) to provide the Tennessee Recovery Project funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Nashville-based organization is aiding the city’s Donelson and Hermitage communities impacted by recent tornadoes.

A deadly tornado outbreak impacted Middle and East Tennessee on the evening of March 2 and into the morning of March 3, 2020. It killed 26 people, injured more than 300 and caused $1.1 billion in personal and business property damage.

“A devastating weather event like this takes such an emotional toll on those who survived it, and we are proud to offer our support,” said Lacy Monday, Director of Centerstone’s Crisis Care Services. “Centerstone has been tasked with building a team of crisis counselors to help Donelson and Hermitage with providing resource connections, short-term counseling, long-term counseling referrals and coping advice.”
