In the Community – Summer 2019
Yoga is in full swing at the clinic these days. We’ve partnered with the VA Whole Health and are rolling out the mats at least twice a week! Stay tuned to our Facebook page for class schedules.
We took a short break from Family Movie Night in July and August to account for summer plans, but no worries, we will fire up the popcorn maker again soon. This has become a fan favorite. Our most recent cinema experience featured a packed house of more than 20 moviegoers. This one is here to stay folks and happens the last Thursday night of the month. Mark your calendars and join in the fun!
The Clinic’s partnership with Arts for Hearts, a local non-profit dedicated to spreading the love of the arts, is still going strong. The group’s volunteers share their crafts with us monthly. Projects are already planned for September and October, so be sure to keep an eye on the clinic’s Facebook for dates and times.
We got our hands dirty in May and June with our first gardening class. Participants were able to learn from a local expert as they put their green thumbs to work. The class was such a success we couldn’t let the instructor go without promising to comeback. He did in July when he led an agricultural entrepreneurship class which featured another packed house.
Operation Song was back in July. Participants and Nashville Songwriters turned the clinic into a recording studio and created a few incredible tunes. Here’s a link to just one of the powerful songs recorded that day.
