It’s happening. You’re going to want to mark your calendars. The Steven A. Cohen Clinic at Centerstone is planning a carnival and you won’t want to miss the fun.

“We wanted to do something a bit different to honor the Month of the Military Child this year,” clinic Outreach Director, Meghan Williams said. “When we began brainstorming I kept falling back on the idea of a resource fair with flair. I wanted that flair to be fun and festive, and, there you have it. You can’t beat a carnival for fun and festive.”

April 22^nd from 11am – 2pm it will be all hands on deck as the clinic team turns the parking lot into a first of its kind Month of the Military Child Cohen Clinic Carnival.

“You can’t have a carnival without games and prizes. So, we have games and prizes. We also have a tremendous community that this stepping up with us to ensure we celebrate our nation’s littlest heroes in a big way.” Williams added.

So far, event sponsorships have rolled in from a number of area businesses and clinic partners. Blue Star Families is providing a magician who will have two half hour show times for families to choose from. Omni Financial has sponsored a dunking booth. The possibilities of who will take a turn in that dunking booth are endless. Realtor Patricia Shipley of Keller Williams is sponsoring a bouncy house. The Flippin’ Axe is bringing its portable axe throwing game and First Command is making sure there is ice cream thanks to an ice cream truck.

“Our community has truly embraced this event. We are thrilled,” Williams said. “Along with the incredible sponsorships we’ve already received, vendors will include many of our fellow veteran serving organizations and community resources. So while families get to enjoy a day of Kitten Races courtesy of Puurrrfect Paws Rescue, and DIY Carnival games with prizes, they can also learn more about a variety of resources available in our area.”
