Kathryn Graber Honored as Child Advocate of the Year
Centerstone’s Kathryn Graber was recently honored by Manatee Children’s Services as the James Wischer Child Advocate of the Year!
Kathryn is a behavioral health consultant, located at the Child Protective Office in Florida and works to provide education, consultation and assessments to those detectives investigating an abuse report. Her important work and experience as a licensed therapist helps investigators understand the impact mental health and substance abuse have on parenting and the risks they have on the child.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by Manatee Children’s Services for this award,” said Kathryn.
The James Wischer Child Advocate of the Year award is named after the late Detective Sgt. James “Jim” Wischer Jr., who was a child advocate and longtime detective. James died from cancer in 2017.
Nominated by peers in the Manatee community, Kathryn has a long career in child advocacy and is passionate about facilitating change and healing for children and their families. She is an example of how working at Centerstone is more than just a job – it’s a purpose.
