Cohen Clinic at Centerstone Collaboration with CSX

CSX, a national transportation supply company headquartered right here in Northeast Florida, has graciously stepped up to support the mission of the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone.

The rail and intermodal business has a long history of supporting our nation’s military.  Most recently, CSX has brought that support to the Cohen Clinic at Centerstone by awarding the clinic a $10,000 Pride in Service grant that will be utilized to support the clinic’s community room outreach efforts.

“CSX is an important partner for our clinic as we seek to support the Northeast Florida military community,” Liz Sherr, Clinic Director of the Cohen Clinic at Centerstone said.  “Through this grant we will be able to provide innovative programs that directly support our community, clients and their families.”

In addition to providing compassionate, individualized mental health care to post 9/11 veterans and their families, the Cohen Clinic at Centerstone strives to be a community hub for military families by providing enrichment events in order to encourage connectivity and social support.  CSX, whose workforce is comprised of numerous veterans, active duty military and first responders recognized this important effort, ensuring the clinic will be able to continue hosting these events free of charge.

“We are grateful to CSX for this generous gift,” Sherr said.  “Through their kindness we will be able to provide connection and support that reminds our military families they are not alone.  We are here to support them, and CSX’s partnership will help us succeed in that mission.”

Our Cohen Clinic at Centerstone- Jacksonville is working closely with CSX through their Pride in Service program.  This program honors and rewards military personnel and first responders for the sacrifices they make in the name of service.   Like Jacksonville, many of the communities CSX touches touch have high concentrations of military families, and Pride in Service provides opportunities to support military members and their families.

Pride in Service grants are intended to serve those who serve, and are awarded to organizations that honor and support national and local heroes – veterans, active military and first responders.  This funding has been recognized by AMVETS, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve, and other organizations that value the importance of CSX’s commitment.  CSX is proud that more than 3,700 veterans, active duty military and first responders have chosen to work for their company, forming nearly one fifth of the CSX workforce.

The Jacksonville clinic was honored to receive a Pride in Service grant that will be utilized to support our community room outreach.  The Jacksonville clinic team looks forward to an ongoing partnership and collaboration with CSX on behalf of military veterans and their families.
