We’re Back!

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics at Centerstone, located in Clarksville, TN, Jacksonville, FL, and Fayetteville, NC, have opened their physical doors again to active duty service members, Post 9/11 veterans and military family members in need this month.

“It’s been a difficult year for everyone,” Jennifer Smith, Clinic Director in Clarksville, TN said. “We were fortunate that we were able to continue providing comprehensive mental health care services to our clients via telehealth without any interruptions and with great success. However, physical distancing guidelines required that we refrained from in-person therapy sessions. Now, that those restrictions have been lifted, we are thrilled to welcome our military service members and their loved ones back to the clinic.”

The first Cohen Clinic at Centerstone opened its doors in Clarksville in August 2018. Since then, the nonprofit clinic has helped nearly 3,000 post 9/11 veterans and military family members navigate life’s challenges by providing compassionate, accessible mental health care to this most deserving population. Since then, the Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) and Centerstone partnership has grown, adding locations in NC and FL – both of which saw clients seeking help during the pandemic, ensuring they received the care they needed in a virtual setting. Now, as of June 3^rd, those wishing to resume face-to-face services at all three locations are welcome to do so.

“A life of service comes with unique challenges,” Lisa Eggebeen, Regional Director of the Cohen Clinics at Centerstone said. “Our team understands these difficulties. Many of us our veterans or military family members ourselves and all are trained in military competencies. We truly believe our nation’s heroes and their families have earned the right to the best possible care and we are honored to provide that support.”

The Cohen Clinics at Centerstone also strives to break down barriers to that care. While resuming in-person services has been a priority, staff members will continue to offer telehealth options to care for those who wish to partake in therapy sessions virtually for whatever reason such as scheduling or transportation concerns.

“We want our military families to know they are never alone,” Smith said. “Whether in-person or online, as individuals, couples or families, we are here to offer our support and help heal.”
