Centerstone Welcomes Lisa Spelta as Major Gifts Officer

Nashville, Tenn. – Centerstone, a nonprofit health system specializing in mental health and substance use disorder services, welcomes Lisa Spelta to the new role of Major Gifts Officer. Lisa brings extensive nonprofit development and fundraising experience through her work with the American Heart Association, March of Dimes and, most recently, Nashville Rescue Mission.

Lisa’s goals include continuing the momentum of Centerstone’s Foundation to grow awareness of why Centerstone’s work to help those who experience mental health and addiction challenges, regardless of their ability to pay, is so important. Lisa’s favorite part of her work is stewardship, and she plans to grow the good work that has already been started at Centerstone to ensure donors know how their donations are changing lives.

Lisa’s passion for this work is underscored by her personal experience of losing her son to an accidental overdose and trying to find counseling, grief groups, and payment options for herself and her children.

“My family and I have lived so much of what Centerstone is doing to help others. I have lived through navigating so many of the barriers many people face when trying to access care, so it’s personal for me. I am thoroughly impressed with what I’ve seen so far at Centerstone and excited to be part of this mission.”

Ramona Rhodes, Centerstone’s Foundation President said she’s excited about this new addition to the team. “Lisa’s nonprofit knowledge is extensive and we are grateful that she is sharing her experience with us to strengthen our development opportunities which will expand our reach into our communities. Lisa brings her heartfelt passion to serve individuals on the road to mental wellness and recovery from substance use. We look forward to her leadership and can’t wait to see how that improves outcomes for Centerstone patients!”

Lisa received her bachelor of business administration from Middle Tennessee State University with a concentration in marketing, and was an active member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a professional business and marketing fraternity. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Village of Providence and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
