Recovery and Resource Rally
Centerstone Indiana’s Child and Family Service team in Jennings County recently partnered with JC Cares to host a Recovery and Resource Rally in North Vernon. Twenty-five community partners shared information regarding their services with more than 125 local residents.
JC Cares was formed by Darragh Wilson, Centerstone, Assistant Manager, Child and Family Team; Cheri Massey, Jennings County United Way director; Caleb Reynolds, Pastor; Pam Petry, Jennings County Public Health Nurse and others in late 2016 after a rash of heroin overdoses in Jennings County.
The Recovery and Resource Rally provided vital information and resources to individuals and families dealing with substance abuse issues. Many at the rally were inspired by stories shared by individuals at various stages of their recovery from addiction. The health department provided HIV and Hepatitis C testing. Narcan kits were also available. The rally was entertaining as well as educational with Driven, a local Christian Country Rock Band providing the music.
