Children and Family

Our counselors and therapists create trust to encourage young clients to share their feelings. We develop treatment plans for the needs of each child made specifically for them. By teaming with families, schools and communities, we build a network of healing.

Our services for children, adolescents and families include:

Child Welfare

We provide services to children, youth (birth to 26 years old) and their families, focusing on those who have a history of emotional issues and behavioral issues. We focus on youth with problems which have significantly impacted their ability to function at school, in their community and at home. These services include:
  • intensive 24-hour residential treatment in community group homes
  • therapeutic foster care
  • intensive in-home services
  • programs that incorporate addiction-services treatment, good child welfare practice, and family preservation into case management
  • adoption services
  • independent living/transitional living services

Early Childhood Services

Centerstone offers a collection of services designed specifically for pregnant women, families with young children and anyone thinking about getting pregnant. These services are delivered primarily in the home by dedicated professionals with the goal of strengthening families physically, mentally and emotionally. These services include:
  • Parent Coaching (Growing Great Kids) – learn activities that boost your baby’s brain development and strengthen the child/parent relationship to help your child improve their social skills and succeed in school
  • Tobacco Free Program – support for prenatal moms to stop smoking
  • Postpartum Depression Therapy – "baby blues” screening and therapy for moms and families
  • Stress Management – receive support and learn activities for healthy coping in times of stress
  • Integrated Health and Wellness – get help managing your family’s physical and mental health needs
  • Fatherhood Engagement – dads learn how to build stronger connections with their child
  • Regional Intervention Program – structured program for parents and their children, ages one to five
We also offer education and support:

  • linkage to addiction related services

School-Based Therapy

School-based therapists provide mental health services for children and adolescents within preschool, elementary, middle and high school facilities. We help students:  
  • overcome behavioral, emotional or social problems that interfere with success at school and at home
  • reduce disruptive behavior
  • improve self-monitoring skills
As members of the school team, we can serve youth in a familiar setting, offering minimal interruption to their school day. Services may include:
  • individual and group therapy
  • family counseling
  • risk assessments
  • specialized training and support services for parents and teachers
  • collaboration with other community providers
  • links to additional community resources
