Generous Grant Expands Play Therapy to Fayette County, Indiana
Thanks to a generous gift from the Fayette County Foundation staff in Connersville, Ind. have received access to three new Mobile Play Therapy Kits and a Therapeutic Resource Library.
The Fayette County Foundation awarded $4,600 to Centerstone’s Child & Family Services Department to purchase three Mobile Play Therapy Kits and a Therapeutic Resource Library. This philanthropic grant covers the cost of all materials needed to enable Connersville staff to make play therapy available to all of the children and families they treat.
Fayette County is one of over a dozen Indiana counties served by Centerstone with access to Mobile Play Therapy supplies to help therapists, family support specialists, and other direct care staff engage the children and families they serve in evidence-based therapeutic play.
The Fayette County Centerstone location is also now counted among more than half a dozen offices with a customized Therapeutic Resource Library. This crucial resource contains books, videos, and games staff can use to expand their knowledge and ability to effectively treat the behavioral health issues clients face. Staff were able request specific items to build a library that meets the needs in their local community, selecting resources and protocols that provide best-practice approaches to issues ranging from parenting and coping skills to dealing with social anxiety or trauma.
We are thankful for the Fayette County Foundation’s support of this vital program that will help change the lives of the Fayette County children and families we serve.
