1st Annual Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone Community Art Show

The clinic was transformed into an art gallery on August 10th in honor of our one-year anniversary. Thirty Veteran and Family member artists came together to share their talents with the community. The celebration featured pieces created in numerous different mediums from a variety of artistic expressions.

Medal of Honor recipient Ryan Pitts, who advocates for the Cohen Veterans Network of clinics nationwide, was on hand to witness the overwhelming fellowship. “I think establishing a sense of community is absolutely critical,” Pitts said. “I think of my own time in service and when I talk to my brothers and sisters that have taken off the uniform, you know, what we miss most is camaraderie. Giving people a place to come together and make those connections is so important.”

The art show proved to do just that. Following the event, many artists expressed their gratitude to clinic staff members noting the day brought about new friendships and inspirations.

Our deepest thanks go out to the Customs House Museum team for all their help, the many talented artists who participated and everyone who came to support them. You can view all of the artist submissions by visiting the art show’s website, www.cohenartshow.com.

And, don’t forget, mark your calendars for next August when we promise to do it all again!
